• Midfielder may play in Europa League tie against Udinese

Joe Cole made his first Liverpool appearance since aggravating a hamstring injury six weeks ago as the Under-21s beat Fulham 3-0 on Monday.
The former England international opened the scoring at the club's academy in Kirkby and played for just over an hour as he stepped up his recovery from a series of early-season injury problems. Cole suffered a hamstring strain in Brendan Rodgers' first competitive game as manager against FC Gomel in August and aggravated the problem on his return as a substitute at West Bromwich Albion on the opening day of the Premier League season.
The 30-year-old faces a major challenge to establish himself in Rodgers' first-team plans but could come into consideration for the Europa League tie with Udinese at Anfield on Thursday.
