Detroit Tigers and San Francisco Giants head to MLB championship series
Justin Verlander's Detroit Tigers and Buster Posey's San Francisco Giants eliminated the Oakland A's and the Cincinatti Reds to reach ALCS and NLCS

The Detroit Tigers and the San Francisco Giants secured their places in the MLB championship series beating the Oakland Athletics and the Cincinatti Reds in Game Fives.

The Yankees, Orioles, Cardinals and Nationals all face Game Five deciders on Friday.

A Buster Posey grand slam led the San Francisco Giants to a 6-4 victory over the Cincinnati Reds to advance to the NLCS. The Reds took the first two games of the series in San Francisco before losing all three at home. The Giants will now face either the Nationals or the Cardinals.

Justin Verlander threw his first career postseason shutout as the Detroit Tigers beat the Oakland Athletics 6-0. Verlander had an MLB record 22 strikeouts in the ALDS. The Tigers move on to the ALCS to face either the Orioles or the Yankees. Billy Beane is still trying to win the last game of the season.

New York and Baltimore will have their own Game 5 after the Orioles ground out a 13-inning 2-1 victory over the Yankees in NY. The ALDS series is tied 2-2.

Washington and St Louis will also have a Game 5 after the Nationals beat the Cardinals 2-1. The NLDS series is 2-2.

  • Newcastle v Arsenal Betting Gunners odds on to secure a top four finish
The race for a Top Four Finish in the Premier League will go down to the wire this weekend and there is all to play for on Sunday afternoon. Arsenal travel to Newcastle knowing that a win would be enough to seal fourth place at least, ahead of their North London rivals Spurs, and Arsene Wenger's men are odds on for a season-defining win at St James' Park.
  • Swansea v Fulham Odds Swans favourites to end season with a win
Swansea and Fulham end their respective Premier League seasons with a meeting at the Liberty Stadium in Wales on Sunday afternoon. The Swans go into the match as favourites as they bid to round off a fine season with victory, while Fulham have been woeful during the run-in towards the end of the campaign and manager Martin Jol is coming under a bit of pressure.
  • Southampton v Stoke Odds Back a draw in the St Marys betting
Southampton welcome Stoke to St Mary's for the final game of the Premier League season on Sunday afternoon and there is something of a cloud hanging over the future of their manager. Mauricio Pochettino replaced Nigel Adkins in January but he has reportedly claimed that he will quit the club if chairman Nicola Cortese leaves this summer.
